What If Episode 4 Review: Dr. Strange is More Strange – Cast, Summary, and More

Contents

Marvel’s What If series makes us imagine how the whole universe could be very different with just a change of a single decision or a single incident. In What If Episode 4 similar thing happens. Where the whole core of a Superhero got corrupt due to the change of a single incident.

Some episodes of What If were totally outstanding, and some were not that good, but one thing is common in all of them, that is imagining the alternate outcomes due to a slight change of decisions.

In What If Episode 4, Dr Stephen Strange’s life takes a turn around when his girlfriend Christina dies in a Car Accident. Dr Strange loses all hope in life, and then he goes to find Kamartaj and becomes the Sourcerer Supreme.

In the original story, Dr Strange’s both hands got severely injured, and he was unable to practice his medical practice anymore. Dr Strange is one of the best surgeons in the world, and his profession is his passion, so when he was unable to practice it, he goes to become the sorcerer supreme.

After gaining his magical powers, the whole story of Dr Strange goes as similar as the original one. In this timeline, Dr Strange also fights with Dormammu and becomes the Sorcerer Supreme. But what happens after is the main change in the story and in the character of Dr Stephen Strange.

Dr Strange is in deep grief for the loss of the love of his life, and he thinks about resurrecting that day every time, but he could not gather much strength in his mind to use time stone for his personal gain.

Then Ancient One comes there and tells Dr Strange that Christine’s death is an absolute point in the timeline that can not be changed because if Christine has not died, then Dr Strange will never become the Sorcerer Supreme.

But Dr Strange does not listen to her and travels much back in time to find the lost books to find out the way to change an absolute point in the timeline. Dr Strange then finds out the way to change an absolute point in the timeline.

The book says that changing an Absolute point requires immense power, and to achieve that, one has to consume the powers of other creatures. In that process, Dr Strange becomes evil, and he does not care if he’s doing destroys the whole universe.

Then Ancient one again goes to Dr Strange and tells him about his evil self and tells him that they both are part of the same timeline, which the ancient one herself did to make Dr Strange stop evil Dr Strange.

Then both Dr Strange have a fight, but evil Dr Strange wins, and he consumes the other Dr Strange too, and then he changes that absolute point of the timeline, which ultimately destroys that whole universe. Because it created a paradox.

In What If Episode 4, we got to see 2 versions of Dr Strange one is evil, and the other one is good, but the intention of both of them is not evil at all. The evil version of Dr Strange just wanted to resurrect the love of his life, Dr Christine.

To which Dr Strange is ready to do anything, though the good version of Dr Strange also wants Christine to be alive, but for him, the safety of the universe is the most important for Dr Strange.

There is a slight chance that we can see the Evil version of Dr Strange in Spider-Man No Way Home because we have seen already that Dr Strange is not supportive if it comes to mess or tamper with the time.

But in the trailer, we have seen that Dr Strange is very cool with messing with space-time. Which can indicate that this is the evil version of Dr Strange.
