9. Taiso Zamurai:

This is an amazing gymnastic anime. Manga written by Shigeru Murakoshi and Anime adapted by Mappa Studio.
The story grows around a Man, Joutarou Aragaki, who established himself as a legend in Gymnastics, but he is Popular as ‘Samurai’ because of his hairstyle. Then, suddenly in one match, he accidentally injured his shoulder following his wife’s death. Five years later, he started to push his body’s limits to remain in the Japanese gymnastics team, but his training showed no improvement. That’s why his coach suggested time to retire.
After retirement, something happens to him, and he cancels his retirement and comes to court again. What happened to him? Can he be successful again now? To know this answer, you must watch this movie.
Fantastic screenplay, Storyline and Wonderful Animation make this awesome. I don’t have to say how great Mappa studio is because they already prove their greatness. That makes this anime the tenth-best sports anime on my list.

This is a beautiful soccer anime written by Kōnosuke Uda and Anima adapted by Mappa.
The story grows around Tsukushi Tsukamoto, who is a shy, clumsy and bullied boy. He has no unique inborn talent in football, but he has an exceptional skill to make strategy during a Match.
When he played a game, another boy Jin, known as a genius soccer player, recognized Tsukushi’s talent and invited him to join the team. What happens when two different skilled players merge together? It’s going to be very interesting. What happened next? To know the answer, you must watch this series.
Animation, direction, and a fantastic screenplay makes the series great. You should definitely watch it. That makes this anime the ninth-best sports anime on my list.
7. Yowamushi Pedal :

Do you know about the Domino effect? The Domino effect shows how a small step towards your goal can make you able to achieve your big dream. This anime shows this lesson beautifully—manga written by Reiko Yoshida and Anime adapted by TMS entertainment.
An otaku boy named Sakamichi wants to join an anime club in his high school and go to Akihabara district, famous for anime fans. However, when he entered high school and knew that the anime club was abandoned due to a lack of interest, his dream was completely shattered.
One day he goes to school with his bicycle, and a cyclist friend of his class sees his cycling skill and offers him that if Sakamichi defeats him, he will join the anime club with him. So there you go, a journey starts between them. Can he defeat him? Can his dream come true? To know the answer, you must watch this series.

Ping Pong the animation is not just a show about table tennis, It’s about people who play table tennis. This is the only anime where I can’t find any main character because Every character is equally important. Manga was written by Maasaki Yuasa and anime was adapted by Tatsunoko Production.
This is far more than a table tennis game; it deals with various psychological aspects like anxiety, depression and adulthood of a game because it tries to reveal the reality of the human mind. The director shows us all the things beautifully.
If you expect the same thing from this like another generic sports anime, you will be disappointed for sure because it has its own uniqueness. Can you imagine it has no protagonist? When you don’t have a protagonist to compare yourself to, you find reality. Sometimes it feels like a documentary.
This anime has its uniqueness, and that makes this anime stand out from all other anime. That unique animation style, realistic storyline and psychological approach make this series the seventh-best sports anime on my list. You should definitely watch it.
5. Ace of Diamonds:
Rating : 9/10

One of the most grounded anime Ace of diamonds, was written by Kenji Konuta and anime was adapted by Madhouse.
The story revolves around Eijun Sawamura, a boy who is a pitcher in his middle school. When he was in the last year of middle school, he desperately wanted to win his final match. But, eventually, they lost because of him. He feels incredibly guilty for this loss, but the opposing team sees his potential and wants to hire him, but he rejects them. Then something interesting with him. What happened to him? To know the answer, you must watch this anime series.
Excellent and fabulous character development makes this series the sixth-best sports anime.
4. One Outs:
Rating : 9.2/10

Just think, what if Light Yagami played baseball. Can you imagine how much pressure you create on the field even if your opponent is frightened? That’s it. To know the answer, you have to watch this series.
“One outs” written by Shinobu Kaitani and animated by Madhouse. The story involves Hiromichi Kojima, a genius player who has a brain like Light Yagami. Eventually, something forced him to join the Saitama Lycaons club, the weakest team in baseball in japan. After his joining, how they change their strategy to play baseball is entirely fascinating to see. Furthermore, he includes gambling strategies in baseball and how he calculates the future result. It amazes us always. This is amazing.
Screenplay, story writing and animation is totally incredible. It is available on youtube. Every episode concludes with twists and turns. That makes us always excited to see what happens next. Incredible twists and turns make this series fifth best sports anime on my list. You should definitely watch it.
3. Hajime no Ippo:
Rating : 9.6/10

One of the most inspirational sports anime written by George Morikawa and Anime adapted by Madhouse.
The story revolves around Ippo Makunouchi, who was a shy bullied high school student. Because of his shyness, he was unable to make friends. One day a group led by Umezawa was bullying him. Although these bullies gave him a severe beating, a middle-weight boxer passing by stopped them took the injured Ippo and went to the gym. Here the story begins. How did he evolve? How did he become a Boxer? To know about this answer, you must watch this series for sure.
This series has an amazing plot that gives you the extreme motivation to push yourself hardest. In addition, the direction and screenplay are fabulous. That makes this series the third best sports anime on my list.
2. Kuroko’s Basketball :
Rating : 9.8/10

This is a fantastic shounen sports thrilling anime written by Tadatoshi Fujimaki and animation adapted by Production I.G.
There was a legendary team in basketball named ‘Generation of Miracles’. They played from Teiko middle school. All players are totally Godlike, but after middle school, they decided that they would be separated in high school and become rivals.
The story grows around Kuroko and Kagami named players. Kuroko has his own unique style, and Kagami has an extreme passion for basketball. Kuroko was the sixth phantom player of the Generation of Miracles team, and Kagami was from the U.S. They joined the Seirin high school basketball club together. How they face each other will be interesting to watch.
You will never forget the basketball fight between Aomina vs Kagami. That is thrilling and interesting. But, what is the phantom player Kuroko’s power? Why does everyone call him phantom? Can Kagami beat all Five members of Generation of Miracles? To know this answer, you have to watch this series.
The animation style, Plot, Screenplay, Direction and background music is incredible. When you watch this, I guarantee you will be hyped very much. That makes this series the second-best sports anime on my list.

Rating : 10/10

Imagine if a thing is not made for you, but You make it for yourself with your will power. That series shows this beautifully.This fantastic best sports anime, a manga, is written by Taku Kishimoto and anime adapted by Production I.G.
The story grows around a middle school boy named Hinata who one day saw a volleyball match on T.V. where a short player like him, famous as a little giant, played volleyball. After seeing that, he wants to play like Little giant one day. However, he is very short, and volleyball is made for tall players. So he practised hard at jumping and speed.
Finally, one day he gets a chance to play a real volleyball match, but his team is not passionate as him. On the other side, a Prodigy player named Kagayama, who is popularly known as “King of the Court”, played against Hinata in the first match. Hinata lost to him and got out of the tournament, and he thought he would beat Kagayama one day.
But after completing middle school, Hinata goes to Karasuno high school, where Little Giant plays because he idolizes him. When he reaches the gymnasium, Kagayama is already practising there.
Now just think of your rival as your teammate. What do you have to do? Can Kagayama and Hinata become friends? If yes, then what happened? Can they win against the top best teams of Japan and win Nationals championship? To know the answer, you must watch this series. This is the best sports anime series I have ever seen.
Haikyuu contains everything that a sports anime should have. Here we see rivalry, friendship, team spirit, strategy, win or lose, sportsmanship, team-leading etc. Haikyuu’s specialities are grounded, motivational, realistic, and focus on winning and express the emotion when you lose. It shows the mental depression after losing and how to overcome it. This anime shows it beautifully. I don’t have enough words to say about it. That makes this series the best sports anime ever. I recommend you to watch the whole series at least three times.
