Best detective movies are always a treat to watch for those who like movies filled with suspense, mystery, and thrill. And when it comes to Hollywood, anything unimaginable can happen. Mind-bending and mind-boggling stories, twisted plots, sharp editing, and whatnot. This genre of movie has it all, which a movie buff like me wants in a movie.
Detective movies and mystery thrillers are my personal favorite genre of movies. And now I’m going to recommend to you the ten best detective movies of Hollywood. Those are my all-time favorite.

Johnny Depp, who plays the character of Edward Rachet, a gangster, who got murdered on the Orient Express, and the world-renowned detective Hercule Poirot, who was also present in the express, now has to find the killer who’s still present in the Orient Express. Who’s the murderer? And will Hercule be able to catch the murderer?
This movie has a very intriguing plot that will keep you engaged throughout the whole movie. The visuals of this movie are so beautiful, and the movie is shot very beautifully.
And what makes this movie a worthy watch and one of the best Detective movies of Hollywood, and the reason I include this movie in my list is the very impressive performances of the cast.

And now they both join hands to find out Harry Goodman. And what happens after that, what secrets they unfold on the journey is the movie’s plot.
The VFX work of this movie is undoubtedly top of the class, and the movie is shot very beautifully. And the VFX of this movie makes this one of the best Detective movies in Hollywood. This movie will surely take you to the nostalgia of your childhood when everybody, including me, was a massive fan of Pokemons. This movie surely deserves a watch.

Enola Holmes is the sister of the world-famous detective Sherlock Holmes. And one day, their mother goes missing, and Enola goes to find her mother even after her brothers tried to stop her from looking for her mother. And then his brothers are after finding their sister and their mother both. Will they be able to find their mother? You’ve got to see the movie to find out.
Henry Cavill plays quite good Sherlock Holmes, and Sam Claflin was also impressive as Mycroft Holmes, But the real soul show stealer of the movie is Millie Bobby Brown as Enola Holmes. This one is undoubtedly one of the best Detective movies of Hollywood. If you are looking for a good detective movie that keeps you engaged, you should watch this movie.

Why can’t he remember his past? Will he survive? Will he be able to figure all that out? You’ve got to see this movie.
The mixture of all these questions is what makes this film a roller coaster ride with too many twists and turns in the story make this one of the best Detective movies of Hollywood. The movie’s screenplay is written very well, and the Direction of the film is even better. And the action sequences are the main takeaway of the movie.
The action is so well choreographed. And the action sequences of this movie were a benchmark when this movie arrived. And this movie is also one of my personal favorite action thrillers because I love the action so much.

Talking about detective movies and Sherlock Holmes doesn’t come up; that’s impossible. Sherlock Holmes is hands-down one of the most famous detectives of all time. And this movie will definitely tell you why he is such a renowned detective.
Sherlock Holmes is the master of disguise, he’s the most brilliant mind of the world, and Robert Downey Jr. perfectly showcases all the abilities of Sherlock Holmes. He’s such a brilliant actor that you won’t even notice any other actor in this movie. He clearly steals the show.
Just like all the detective movies, this one is also filled with suspense and twists and turns, and some outstanding and innovative action sequences. This is undoubtedly one of the best Detective movies of Hollywood. You should definitely give this movie a watch.

A serial killer is on the loose in California and calls himself “Zodiac” and threatens to kill a dozen more people if his coded letters were not decoded. And this movie was based on the actual events which happened around northern California in the 1960s and 70s.
I like watching movies based on true events because it gives me a different sense of reality and scares me that such people did exist. And I am more invested in such stories to find out who that person is and whether he was caught or not.
And what makes this movie a top-of-the-class mystery drama and one of the best Detective movies of Hollywood is the actors and the movie’s screenplay. When you have actors like Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, and Jack Gyllenhall, the outcome must be outstanding.
So if you want to watch an engaging mystery drama, then this movie must be on your list.

Knives out are one of the best detective movies of all time. After the 85th birthday party of a wealthy mystery novelist, he was found dead the following day in his own house, which was believed to be a suicide. And private detective Benoit Bianc played by Daniel Craige, was paid anonymously to investigate the case. And from there, all the mystery and drama starts, and every one of the family members is on the radar of suspicion of the private detective. Was it really a suicide?
The plot of this movie is a classic mystery crime drama that will keep you engaged throughout the movie. The movie’s screenplay is written very beautifully, which will keep you guessing, and you won’t even notice when your 2 hours and 10 minutes passed. Knives Out is not a doubt one of the best Detective movies of Hollywood.

Shutter Island is an American psychological thriller film based on Dennis Lehane’s 2003 novel of the same name. As Deputy U.S Marshal Edward Daniels, an investigating officer, Leonardo DiCaprio sends them to a psychiatric facility on Shutter Island after one of the patients goes missing. Mark Ruffalo, who plays his partner and fellow Deputy Marshal, Ben Kingsly, is the head psychiatrist at the facility. A patient Rachel Solando goes missing from the facility, and the Us marshals arrived there to investigate the mysterious disappearance of the patient.
Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the gifted and most versatile Hollywood actors. When he stars in a movie, his sole presence makes that movie a worthy watch and one of the best Detective movies of Hollywood, and in this movie, DiCaprio amazes as well with his stellar performance.
The mind-boggling screenplay, the fantastic Direction of Martin Scorsese, and Leonardo’s stellar performance make this movie a must-watch.

And what happens when a man with this disability goes to find the killer of his wife. This movie is a genuine masterpiece and the best mystery thriller movie of all time.
Director Christopher Nolan is always known for his mind-bending and twisted stories, which will keep you puzzled even after the movie is finished. And it compels you to watch the movie, again and again, to understand the story entirely. And trust me, the more times you watch this movie, you are going to come up with a different outcome every time, and that’s the brilliance of Christopher Nolan.
This one is hands-down one of the best Detective movies of Hollywood and highly recommended by me, and a must-watch for all mystery lovers.

As we all know, there are Seven sins, but what if there’s a killer out there who’s hunting all those who are committing one of the seven sins and killing them brutally. Two detectives paired up to pursue this serial killer using the Seven sins as a motive to murder. This one is the best detective movie in Hollywood.
Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman are some of the finest Hollywood actors, and when they both come together for a movie, that movie becomes a must-watch. The sharp Direction of David Fincher and the twisted screenwriting of the film makes it what makes this movie engaging throughout the 2 hours and 8 minutes of the movie.
The climax of this movie is what you never saw coming. Indeed a must-watch mystery thriller.
